People sympathetic to corrupt politicians, bandits, terrorists responsible for currency ,fuel crisis – Kogi LP spokesman

The Kogi State publicity secretary of labour party, Idakwo Emmanuel has blamed the current currency crisis on those sympathetic to corrupt politicians, bandits and terrorists who are fueling the crisis as it touches on their major source of income.

Emmanuel in a statement issued on Friday in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital in response to the present currency crisis said that there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the cashless policy, as it was in line with the global best practices of addressing various vices such as corrupt practices by the politicians, kidnapping and ransom collection, banditry and terrorism.

“Bank transfers are traceable by security agencies even after successful transaction. When it is clear that victims cannot access huge cash from the bank because of CBN policy that placed daily withdrawal limit at 20,000, kidnapping will reduce as it will no longer be profitable.

According to him, the transaction of even boko haram and other terrorist groups is mostly with cash to avoid traces of transaction record in banks.

“If you are deep in politics, you will discover that political funds are usually shared in cash. No politician will share or bribe with bank transfer; And this policy will limit such access of raw cash thereby curbing corruption.
All those that are affected directly or indirectly by this policy are mostly corrupt politicians, bandits and terrorist, because you can transfer even as much at 5 million a day and more with your bank app”.

Emmanuel also said that If not for the sabotage by bank managers due to the interest, and manipulation of corrupt politicians the new naira note should have been easy to access through all banks, ATM machines and CBN agents all across the country including areas without banks already.

“But they deliberately make the new naira notes difficult to access so that the people will suffer and protest against FG / CBN policy that has tamed corrupt politicians, bandits and terrorist funds from circulating freely.”Emmanuel noted.

“The whole world is moving towards cashless economy so it’s not just about Nigeria.
You take side with those fighting against this policy because corrupt politicians will stop at nothing in manipulating the masses to do their will unconsciously. That is why they influence top bank staffs to cause scarcity of the new naira notes while they try to use that as an excuse to legally pulldown the policy because the benefits of the policy to Nigeria is their pain and that will eventually put an end to their game of dirty politics.”

According to him,”If they care about the cry, pain and hunger of the masses, why did they hide COVID-19 pallatives when people were quarantined and can’t trade or hustle for daily bread?
