The Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has sent a condolence message to former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, CON, over the death of his mother, Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi, who passed on at the age of 89.
In the letter dated September 3, 2026 and signed by PANDEF National Chairman, Ambassador Dr Godknows Boladei Igali, OON, and National Secretary, Alabo Eng Beks Dagogo-Jack, OFR, FNSE, the Forum described the late matriarch as “a beacon of light, a pillar of unyielding faith, and a community anchor whose influence extended far beyond her immediate family.”
PANDEF noted that Mama Amaechi lived a life “completely anchored in the service of God and humanity” and did not merely preach values but lived them daily. The Forum said her “strict moral discipline, unconditional love, and spiritual guidance are clearly visible in the character, leadership, and public service of her children, especially our brother, Chibuike Amaechi.”
The group also paid tribute to her as “Ezinne” – _A Mother of Distinguished Benevolence and Wisdom_ – and a Papal Dame of the Catholic Church, adding that “raising leaders who have shaped the trajectory of Ikwerre Nation, Rivers State and the nation is a testament to the quiet, powerful strength of her motherhood.”
Quoting John 11:25-26 to comfort the Amaechi family, PANDEF said: _“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’”_
The Forum concluded by praying for eternal rest for the departed soul and for God’s peace upon the Amaechi family and the Ubima community at large .
