The Imole Campaign Council, TICC, has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun is rattled by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s performance and the broad support he enjoys across the state.
In a statement issued by the TICC spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi and made available to our correspondent on Sunday, the Council argued that the governor’s record across sectors is driving public resolve to re-elect him for a second term.
“There is no better indicator that the Osun APC is deeply troubled by the depth of the achievements of Governor Adeleke than its infantile critique of progress and perverse overview of impacts,” Olajengbesi said.
He said the APC should be apologizing for past misrule instead of pushing for a return to an era he described as marked by hardship and stagnation.
“Progress under Governor Adeleke is visible and the direct beneficiaries are Osun people. This is an undisputed reality that makes the AMBO campaign restless, hence its daily dose of deliberate twists and lifeless propaganda,” he added.
Olajengbesi said winning public support requires more than rhetoric, especially after voters experienced the consequences of trusting the APC with their mandate. He challenged the APC to compare its 12-year record in office with Adeleke’s achievements.
“The Osun APC and its campaign must never assume that Osun people have a short memory of the damage and pains inflicted on the state and its people,” he said.
“Governor Adeleke has spent the last three and a half years fixing their mess and restoring confidence in a better Osun State.”
He said the administration had shifted Osun from a state where labour was treated with contempt to one where dignity and development are prioritized.
“We are very proud to campaign on the record of the monumental achievements of Governor Adeleke, which has brought enormous joy and great relief to the people,” Olajengbesi said.
He expressed confidence that voters would back Adeleke in the August 15 governorship election, citing what he called the governor’s exceptional transformation of the state.
