Onuachu Poised to Break Record as Highest-Scoring Foreign Striker in Turkey

    Published on

Trabzonspor striker, Paul Onuachu, is on the verge of becoming the highest-scoring foreigner in a single season for his club.

This comes after the Nigerian international scored a goal in Trabzonspor’s 2-1 win against Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig tie at the weekend.

The goal took Onuachu’s tally to 22 goals for Trabzonspor in 25 appearances in the domestic league so far this season.

However, according to Aksam Spor, the 31-year-old is now three more goals away from surpassing Alexander Sørloth’s record of 24 goals in a single season for Trabzonspor.

Recall that Sørloth, who currently plays for Atletico Madrid, set that mark during the 2019/20 season for the Black Sea Storm.

Also, if Onuachu scores four more goals, he will surpass Shota Arveladze’s long-standing record of 25 goals in a single campaign for Trabzonspor.
