    Olubadan Encourages Love and Peace Between Yorubas and Igbos, Commends Eze Ndigbo’s Leadership

    The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, has extended warm wishes to Dr. Alex Anozie on his 26th year anniversary as the Eze Ndigbo of Ibadanland in Oyo State. Oba Balogun urged Dr. Anozie to continue being a proponent of love and peace in his role as a leader. Oba Balogun highlighted the significant period of harmony between the Igbo and Yoruba communities since Dr. Alex Anozie assumed the position of Ezendigbo in 1997. He commended the Igbo monarch for fostering a peaceful coexistence between the two ethnic groups without major conflicts. In a letter addressed to Dr. Anozie on the occasion of his coronation anniversary, Oba Balogun advised him to continue promoting unity and progress within the context of a united Nigeria. The Olubadan’s message read, “I extend royal greetings from the palace as I congratulate you and the Igbo community, both in Ibadan and throughout Oyo State, on the occasion of your recent 26th year anniversary as Eze Ndigbo. Your tenure has provided your people with God-fearing leadership. “It is noteworthy that both Igbo and Yoruba communities have coexisted peacefully without discord since your assumption of the role of Eze Ndigbo 26 years ago. This achievement reflects your leadership acumen and is deserving of commendation. “As you move ahead, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your role as an advocate of love, peace, and unity in the ongoing progress of a united Nigeria. I pray that the Almighty bestows upon you a long and healthy life to continue guiding your people as you have admirably done, and to continue making meaningful contributions to humanity through your bestowed wisdom.” The Olubadan’s message reinforces the importance of fostering understanding and harmony among different ethnic groups within Nigeria, highlighting the positive impact of Dr. Anozie’s leadership in promoting coexistence between the Yoruba and Igbo communities.
