The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osun State have apprehended a 40-year-old man, Jide Fadipe, for suspected vandalism. Fadipe, a resident of Ilaje-Area, BJ4 Ilesa in Osun, was arrested for allegedly vandalizing a government primary school building in Ilaje-Area, Ilesa.

According to Commandant Michael Adaralewa, the NSCDC received a report from a member of the public in Ilesa about ongoing vandalism at the school. As a result, the command initiated surveillance around the area.

On June 4, 2024, Fadipe was caught around 5 a.m. removing roofing sheets from the school building. He was subsequently apprehended while attempting to sell the stolen materials to metal scrap buyers in Ilesa.

Commandant Adaralewa assured the public that Fadipe would face the full force of the law for his actions, emphasizing that such behavior would not be tolerated. Fadipe’s actions are in violation of Section 451 of the Criminal Code Law Cap 34, Laws of Osun State, Nigeria, which addresses willful and unlawful destruction or damage to property.
