Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has successfully concluded the second edition of the 2023 #NLNGChangeYourStory workshop, a significant initiative aimed at equipping journalists with advanced digital communication and social media skills to effectively report on the new economic landscape following the complete removal of fuel subsidy and the resulting shifts in gas supply economics.

Gathering over 25 journalists from diverse editorial backgrounds in Abuja, the annual capacity workshop took place from August 1st to August 3rd, 2023. Supported by NLNG, the workshop primarily focused on enhancing mobile and multimedia journalism, providing participants with an immersive and comprehensive learning experience.

Andy Odeh, NLNG’s General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development, emphasized NLNG’s unwavering commitment to empowering journalists with the necessary tools and competencies to convey stories that resonate within Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital realm. He highlighted NLNG’s acknowledgment of the pivotal role played by stakeholders in the company’s present and future accomplishments, emphasizing the intertwined growth of NLNG’s stakeholders and the company itself.

Odeh asserted that NLNG’s dedication to capacity building goes beyond mere words, reflecting a tangible commitment that enhances both stakeholder development and national progress. He remarked, “NLNG’s pursuit of sustainable growth has led us to recognize digital communication and social media as the cornerstones of future media.”

He further explained that the workshop’s inception dates back to 2015 when the first #NLNGChangeYourStory workshop involved eight journalists. Odeh conveyed that the company’s vision aligns with being a globally competitive LNG enterprise contributing to a better Nigeria, and capacity building is integral to achieving this vision.
