    NELFUND Honors LAUTECH Best Graduating Student, Reaffirms Commitment to Academic Excellence

    The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, has received and honoured Mr. Oladepo Caleb Olugbenga, the Best Graduating Student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), at a recognition ceremony held at the Fund’s headquarters.

    Olugbenga, a beneficiary of the NELFUND loan scheme and now a NELFUND Ambassador, was celebrated for his outstanding academic achievement. His journey, according to the Fund, reflects the transformative power of access to education, resilience, and opportunity.

    Speaking during the ceremony, Sawyerr commended the awardee’s diligence and discipline, describing his success as a shining example for Nigerian students. He noted that Olugbenga’s accomplishment underscores the impact of NELFUND’s initiatives in empowering young Nigerians to reach their full potential.

    The event, which was described as both inspiring and symbolic, also served to highlight the Fund’s ongoing commitment to promoting excellence in Nigeria’s higher education sector.

    The recognition ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the Executive Director, Operations, Mr. Mustapha Iyal; General Counsel and Board Secretary, Mrs. Funmi Alagbada; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon; Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, LAUTECH, Dr. Oluwafisayo Adebimpe, who represented the Vice-Chancellor; Director, Centre for Institutional Support, Alumni and Development, LAUTECH, Dr. Adetunbi Saheed Ige; and Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi.

    NELFUND reiterated its commitment to nurturing and rewarding academic excellence through impactful initiatives, while continuing efforts to expand access to quality education across the country.
