Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, has visited , Plateau State, to commensurate with the people of Mangu Local Government Area following a recent bandit attack that left 23 deaths and residents distressed .

Obi called for  renewed concerns over the security of communities in the country assured of his policy on addressing insecurity if given the chance .

Obi was received in Jos by the NDC state executive and party chieftains led by Alfred Dapal Damiyal, ADD, amid a warm welcome from party members, supporters and other stakeholders.

The former Anambra State governor is expected to proceed to Mangu, where he will meet with local leaders, residents and families affected by the attack.

The visit is aimed at expressing solidarity with the affected communities and offering support to families who suffered losses in the incident.

Obi is also expected to assess the situation on the ground and listen to the concerns of residents grappling with the aftermath of the attack.

The NDC candidate is expected to use the visit to reaffirm the need for stronger security measures, protection of vulnerable communities and sustained support for victims of violence.

The visit forms part of Obi’s continued engagement with communities affected by challenges  face by vulnerable villages on insecurity and other challenges across the country.
