Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Senator-Elect of Kogi Central, has accused Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, of orchestrating threats against her life following her victory in the senatorial election held in March. During an appearance on Tuesday’s edition of Channels Television’s Politics Today, she revealed, “I heard gunshots; I had his henchmen shoot at my vehicle; I have video evidence of that.”

Akpoti-Uduaghan went on to provide details, mentioning one of the assailants by name and highlighting his role as the returning officer for Okehi local government. She expressed her concern about Governor Bello’s recent acknowledgment of her victory, criticizing his contradictory stance on endangering lives and labeling it as the ‘beauty of democracy.’

She stated, “He said this is the beauty of politics; this is not the beauty of politics. You don’t endanger people, you don’t set out to kill people, you don’t destroy properties, and you don’t frustrate the electoral process just because you want your candidate to win and call it ‘the beauty of democracy’.”

Additionally, Akpoti-Uduaghan accused the governor of deliberately disrupting crucial routes within the state to obstruct the smooth progress of the election.
