The National Executive of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Rearers Association, Delta State chapter, on Friday, paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC Delta State Command, Commandant Chinedu Igbo, at the command’s state head office in Asaba, Delta State , where the association’s gave its support to the peace initiative of the NSCDC.Commandant General.
According to DSC Anthony Uchenna, the state CDPRO, in a statement made available to journalists, the National Executive of Miyetti Allah Cattle Rearers Association, who came majorly to introduce the newly elected state executives to Commandant Igbo, also used the opportunity to solicit for proper communication between the association and the command.
This visit, according to the statement, was aimed at resolving issues and differences within the shortest turnaround time even as the association also promised to identify fake members/Fulani herders hiding under the auspices of the association to perpetrate evil.
The association executives also promised to make concerted effort towards ensuring long lasting peace between farmers and herders in Delta State.
Commandant Igbo, in his remarks, was very assertive in his response, and warned the association to put a check on their members to avoid steering up undue rancour with farmers.
He also assured them that their businesses are safe in Delta State, as all measures had been put in place to protect members of the association from any harm.
