Military plane accidentally bombs vigilantes after  fatal bandit attack

    Published on

A horrific bandit attack on the Mani community in Zamfara State’s Maru Local Government Area has resulted in the deaths of over 20 farmers and the kidnapping of over 50 residents.

Security expert Bakatsine disclosed the event, which happened over the weekend, in a post on X on Monday.

His tweet claims that the tragedy was exacerbated when a military plane that was sent in for support during the attack unintentionally shot local vigilantes.

“Bandits attacked the Mani community of Maru LGA in Zamfara yesterday, killing over 20 farmers,” Bakatsine said. Over fifty people remain in custody. Vigilantes were accidentally shot at by a military plane that had arrived for protection.

An official statement regarding the incident has not yet been released by the Zamfara State Government or security services.
