The presidential candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has promised to run a four-year Transitional Government of National Unity (TGNU) in his first term if elected president.
Makinde said the TGNU will devolve powers to drive security, infrastructure and economic development across the six geopolitical zones.
He unveiled the plan on Saturday in Yola, Adamawa State, during a town hall meeting to launch his party’s Reset Agenda.
The governor said his administration would, from May 2027, tackle insecurity, poverty linked to what he called wrong petroleum pricing, and erratic power supply.
He accused the Bola Tinubu administration of three years of lies, deceit and empty promises, saying the North and Nigeria at large have suffered under its maladministration.
Makinde said the present government has failed in the electricity sector despite promises to improve it within four years.
He also faulted the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative, claiming it has created more problems and returned long queues to filling stations.
According to him, the APM’s blueprint to Reset Nigeria will address the anomalies and restore transparent leadership.
Makinde promised the North-East improved policies across all sectors, including moderated petrol prices, stable electricity and a more robust CNG programme to ease hardship.
He thanked the government and people of Adamawa for their reception and support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
