Labour Party (LP( presidential candidate, Chibuzor Okereke, has promised to replace Nigeria’s palliative economy with a fully productive economy and run true federalism if elected in 2027.
Okereke, who made the pledge in a statement on Thursday, said political participation should not be left to a small group, noting that citizens must have a voice in who represents them.
According to him, economic development is tied to politics because political decisions shape the environment for economic activities.
He urged eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and participate actively in the 2027 general elections.
”I urged Nigerians to take greater interest in political participation; elected representatives at the federal, state and local levels make decisions that affect citizens’ everyday lives,” he said.
Okereke, who endorsed Abia State Governor Alex Otti and other Labour Party candidates, said the party will provide leadership that improves socio-economic conditions.
He said LP’s campaign is focused on showing how governance can be done differently and urged voters to vote massively for the party.
The candidate said under his watch, Nigeria will function as a true federation, with a working local government system, zero-based budgeting and a full reset of institutional governance anchored on ‘Nigerians First Vision’.
He added that his administration would prioritise youth and women inclusion and expand Federal Character to cover youth, women and persons with disabilities.
