The National Publicity Secretary of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Abubakar Yusuf, has urged Nigerians to learn from the hardship inflicted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), saying voting for the party again shows no lessons have been learnt.
Yusuf was reacting to Saturday’s bye-elections where APC led other parties in Gombe, Kano and Delta, except Bauchi State.
While congratulating APM’s candidate for Sakwa Constituency in Bauchi State, he said the opposition fought the ruling party to a standstill in the state, including in Disina where it lost by a small margin.
He reiterated the call for Nigerians to embrace APM across the country, presenting Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde as ready to deliver good governance as displayed in Oyo in the last seven years.
He appealed to voters in Bauchi, Oyo and across the country to vote massively for Makinde to succeed President Bola Tinubu.
”Engr Seyi Makinde is young, agile, workaholic and hardworking, hence Nigerians cannot continue to witness policy somersault owing to an ailing leader,” he said.
He warned Nigerians against voting APC in the next general election, saying tougher days await if the party is re-elected.
”What happened in Osun should be replicated across the country to return the country back to its lost glory, and it is only Engr Seyi Makinde of APM that has the capacity,” he stated.
The successful candidates of APC in the bye elections are Kallamu Mai-Jama’a of Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State; Husseini Datti, Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State; Okolosi Ator, Udu State Constituency in Delta State; and Yakubu Ali, Disina State Constituency in Bauchi State while Adamu Yakubu of the APM won the Sakwa State Constituency in the same Bauchi State.
