Footage of his feature on the Times Square billboard, situated on Broadway, has surfaced online. This recognition places MohBad in the company of top Nigerian celebrities such as Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Tems, and others who have been featured on Times Square’s billboard in New York.

The billboard message in memory of MohBad reads: “Will be remembered forever, MohBad. Legends are never forgotten. R.I.P.”

MohBad, aged 27, passed away on September 12, 2023, and was laid to rest in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the following day. His death sparked widespread reactions, with some Nigerians accusing his former boss, Naira Marley, and music promoter, Sam Larry, of being responsible for his demise. This led to calls for justice, and protests took place in Lagos, Ogun, and other parts of the country, demanding that the police investigate his death.

In response to the outcry, the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, ordered a forensic investigation to determine the cause of MohBad’s death. Following this directive, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, established a ten-man team, including a pathologist, to exhume and investigate the circumstances surrounding MohBad’s passing.
