    LASUTH Warns of Possible Spread of Monkey Pox

    In a release which carries an undertone of an emergency, the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja, Lagos has alerted the public on the possible spread of Monkey Pox and the need to take proactive steps in curbing it.
    The Hospital disclosed that it has recorded cases of people with the disease and started “seeing signs of those with the Monkey Pox on the streets” but are not yet aware and may assume it is Chicken Pox or ordinary rashes that may be aftermath of the fever they had previously.

    A news release signed by G.O. Ajayi, an Assistant Director in LASUTH advised the general public to take personal hygiene seriously

    Also the public is advised to resume the observance of all the Covid-19 protocols such as regular washing of the hands, taking bath on getting to the house from work or other outings, wearing of face masks, spreading used clothes to dry in the Sun and avoiding bodily contact in the Bus.

    “If you are presently experiencing fever and seeing sign of rashes on your skin, kindly alert the necessary Authority. Don’t keep it to yourself”, the Hospital counselled.

    “Students in Hostel should mind what is shared and should not hesitate to prevent unnecessary contact with people, beddings and utensils”, the release added.
