The Kwara State Government has publicly condemned Senator Bukola Saraki for his remarks regarding the recent local government elections, which the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) won decisively. Hon. Bola Olukoju, the state’s Commissioner for Communications, described Saraki’s questioning of the election’s legitimacy as “laughable” and self-serving.

Olukoju alleged that Saraki’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not only attempted to undermine the electoral process through legal challenges but also resorted to disruptive tactics, including hooliganism, during the voting.

In her criticism, Olukoju highlighted Saraki’s track record while in office, citing issues such as non-payment of salaries, alleged misappropriation of public funds for personal gains, and neglect of workers’ welfare. She accused him of hypocrisy, asserting that his past actions disqualify him from addressing matters of public welfare.

Defending the current administration under Governor Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Razaq, Olukoju pointed out significant strides made in addressing salary arrears and launching infrastructure and welfare initiatives, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving the lives of the people of Kwara State.
