    Kogi Senator, Karimi Donates N11m for Rehabilitation of Lokoja Fish Market

    Sen. Sunday Karimi, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, has again donated another N11m for the Rehabilitation of Lokoja Fish Market Cold Room.

     

    The gesture according to the Senator is aimed at empowering the women to be self reliant and enable them store their wares when necessary.

     

    Recalled that the Lokoja Fish cold room constructed by late Hon. Buba Jubril, has been begging for attention over the years.

     

    Karimi had in December released the sum of N11m for it’s immediate rehabilitation and also for the provision of solar street lights in and around the cold room.

     

    The Fish Cold room project is being supervised by Lokoja Local government stakeholders, under the leadership of Hon. Haruna Isah, a former Member of the House of Representatives.

     

    The Lokoja Fish Cold room project is a project that is wholly financed by Sen Karimi who assured that he will continue to do all that is humanly possible to provide succour for women of Lokoja LGA.

     

    In his remarks, Hon. Haruna said the work is progressing speedily, expressed the appreciation of the market community to Sen. Karimi for coming to the aid of the women.

     

    Similarly, Hajia Ramatu Lami, a fish seller, said when completed, the cold room will help in preserving their wares adding that the gesture is timely and a relief to the women in the market.
