The new Paramount ruler of Ebiraland,The Ohinoyi,His Royal Majesty,
Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Anaje was on Thursday formally presented with his staff of office by the state governor , Alhaji Yayaha Bello.
The presentation was carried out at the palace of the Royal father in Okene with pomp and pageantry.
Punch reports that Ahmed Tijani Anaje, who until the announcement of his appointment was made on Monday 8th January 2024 was the OHI of Okenwen a suburb of Okene township.
Speaking before the official handing over of the staff of office,the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello urged the new Ohinoyi to be traditional ruler to all ebiras, irrespective of clan, the two predominant religions as well as those who believe in traditional religion.
“I want to seize this opportunity to commend those who contested with the new Ohinoyi for displaying good spirit of sportsmanship”. I also call on all ebiras to shield their swords to boost the attainment of the desired development in Egbiraland.
Governor Bello,who presented keys of car to the new Ohinoyi, assured him of his support,even after he must have left office as the governor of the state.
Responding, the new Ohinoyi pledged to Ohinoyi for all, irrespective of clan, religion and other divisive expressions.
He called for the establishment of North Central Development Commission to address the question of marginalization of the region of the country.
The Royal father also called for the establishment of the state Ministry of Religious Affairs to enhance collaboration between adherents of religions in the state.
The first class paramount ruler commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu in ensuring the Ajaokuta steel project become a reality.
Punch reports that the new Ohinoyi succeeded Dr.Abdulrahman Ado Ibrahim who died October ,2023 in Abuja during an illness.
