    Kogi govt launches renovation of 728 public schools

    The Kogi State Government has kicked off the renovation of 728 government-owned public schools under the Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment (AGILE).

    The project aims to boost learning and teaching, marking a significant milestone in the education system.

    State Project Coordinator AGILE, Comr. Tijani Oricha, said the renovation will strengthen school systems and improve learning environments across Kogi State.

    The Education Commissioner, Hon. Wemi Jones added that the Ministry has received over N1.4 billion to support exam fees for WAEC and NECO students.

    He further said arrangements are also underway to train students for Computer-Based Testing (CBT) exams, with training set to begin soon.

    He added that 30 service providers for 150 schools have been selected, urge stakeholders to ensure transparency and professionalism in the project.

    Hon. Jones emphasized that education is a top priority for the government, and the renovation will positively impact all parts of the state.

    The project will be closely monitored for quality and value, and communities are expected to benefit from the renovation.

    In his remarks, the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Solomon Owoniyi, praised the government’s efforts, stressing the importance of investing in girls’ education.

    Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, represented by his Deputy, Comr. Joel Oyibo Salihu, in his remarks reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education, stating that no nation thrives without investing in it.
