As the November 11 Governoship election in Kogi state draws closer, the Social Democratic party, SDP has appealed to President Bola Tinubu, the National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to review the security architecture to guarantee peaceful Election.

A statement issued on Wednesday after a meeting held by the campaign council of the party in Lokoja and signed by the Director,New Media,Dàvid Ijele said that the call became necessary in view of the rising tension in the state ,a situation which has led to the council loosing confidence in the police, and DSS leaderships in the state.

“We would like to call on the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Director General of State Services, the Inspector General of Police, other hierarchy of Security Chiefs, and well-meaning Nigerians to the alarming situation involving the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Tosin and the Police”.

He said that “those who are supposed to maintain professionalism in their respective duties, had become nothing more than a puppet”.

“,At this critical juncture, we find ourselves helpless and implore President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and save us from the lawlessness .Our only desire is to have a peaceful, transparent, free, and fair election. This is not too much to ask for” Ijele added.
