The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Liman Tahiru, has emerged as the consensus candidate for the Makera State Constituency seat through affirmation by party members and stakeholders.

The Returning Officer, Ezekiel Gode, announced the affirmation during the exercise attended by party leaders, electoral stakeholders, and supporters.

Gode said the affirmation followed the adoption of Tahiru as the sole consensus candidate for the constituency.

According to him, all the voting areas affirmed Tahiru’s candidature in line with the directive on the adoption of a consensus candidate.

“Having received all the affirmation results from the five voting areas and following the fact that no other candidate contested except  Tahiru, I hereby declare him as the returned and affirmed candidate for the Makera constituency House of Assembly seat,” he said.

He added that the declaration was made in accordance with the provisions and guidelines of the Electoral Act.
