The Kaduna State Primary Health Development Agency (KPHDA) has announced that there are currently no pending cases of Lassa fever in the state.

Ibrahim Hamza-Ikara, the Director of Public Health, confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria in Kaduna on Wednesday that the state has not reported any new cases of Lassa fever in recent weeks.

Hamza-Ikara further stated that all suspected cases have been discharged from hospitals, and the state continues its efforts to raise awareness about hygiene practices among residents.

Recalling the events of February 23, when the state recorded four Lassa fever-related deaths and had three patients admitted to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Hamza-Ikara assured that those infected are under close monitoring.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining proper food and environmental hygiene, urging residents to report any suspected cases of Lassa fever promptly to the nearest health facility for immediate attention.
