The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned alleged attacks on its members, vandalisation of party offices and damage to vehicles within its premises, urging security agencies to investigate the incidents and prosecute anyone found culpable.

The party’s position was contained in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Sani Dan Azare, who alleged that thugs also assaulted and intimidated APC members and supporters in other parts of the state.

Dan Azare called on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to conduct a prompt and impartial investigation into the reported incidents.

He urged the security agencies to establish the circumstances surrounding the attacks and take appropriate action against those found responsible based on credible evidence and in accordance with the law.

According to him, various claims and allegations had emerged in connection with the incidents, stressing that security agencies should independently examine every credible lead and relevant evidence presented to them.

The APC spokesman said Kaduna had made significant progress in moving beyond the political, ethnic and religious tensions that had previously undermined the state’s stability.

He warned that such gains should not be endangered by violence, intimidation, vandalism or other unlawful conduct.

Dan Azare reiterated the Kaduna APC’s commitment to peaceful, lawful and issue-based political engagement, while calling on political parties, candidates and their supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and within the confines of the law.

He also appealed to APC members and support groups across the state to remain calm, exercise restraint and avoid retaliation or self-help.

“Anyone with relevant information or evidence should make it available to the appropriate security agencies,” he said.

The APC spokesman added: “No political contest is greater than the peace and security of Kaduna State. Let the facts be established. Let due process prevail. Let the law take its course.”
