The Publisher/Editor -in -Chief of Property Brokers International Magazine, Dr. Matthew Ibadin, has emphasised that the issues of title fraud and false documentation in real estate sector must be addressed for the sector to thrive.
Ibadin, in his opening address on Tuesday, 2 September, 2025, during the official launch of Property Brokers International Magazine in Abuja, asserted that the Magazine is a trusted source of verified property listings and intelligence.
He noted that the debut of Property Brokers International Magazine, unveils the continent’s top 100 real estate personalities across Nigeria, with a vision to highlight the achievements of trailblazers shaping Africa’s fast-evolving real estate sector.
Speaking further, the Publisher described the platform as a tribute to excellence and a catalyst for industry growth as it features exclusive interviews, market trends, and profiles of top players driving innovation and transformation across the continent.
He said, “Africa is experiencing an urban transformation like never before as the the magazine seeks to recognise the icons leading this change while serving as a compass for aspiring players in the industry.”
Highlighting the importance of the magazine, Ibadin said, “Its broader aim is to bridge investors, institutions, and professionals through research, strategic exposure, and credible reporting.”
In addition, with offerings ranging from housing insights and investment analysis to legal guidance and urban development forecasts, the publication aspires to become the continent’s most influential property media brand, where credibility meets opportunity.
The keynote speaker at the launch, Ikem Ume-Ezeoke, emphasised the importance of the event, saying that, “the event is not just important for the growth of the industry, but also for the development of Nigeria at large.”
He however, called on the government at all levels to create enabling environment for private sector to invest in the real estate so as to make housing affordable for both the middle and lower classes in the society.
According to him, government should streamline the acquisition of land for those investing in real estate business. Real Estate cannot strive without infrastructure, which should be provided by government.
Ume-Ezeoke also noted that the high cost of building materials has become an impediment to real estate development in the country, hence the need for government to curb the excesses.
On land dispute, false documentation and fraud, the quest speaker urged the government to put mechanisms in place to address the issue, adding that many investors have been defrauded in trying to invest in real estate sector over the years.
The event was attended by key stakeholders across Africa’s property sector, including developers, investors, brokers, policymakers, security personnel, and urban planning experts.
