The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its online recruitment portal for Nigerians interested in serving as ad-hoc personnel during the 2027 general elections.
The recruitment exercise, which commenced on Friday, September 18, 2026, is being conducted through the INECPRES platform and will remain open until midnight on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
The exercise covers several categories of election personnel, including Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers and Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH) personnel.
For the position of Supervisory Presiding Officer, eligible applicants include qualified public and civil servants on Grade Level 10 to 14, as well as other categories of personnel specified by the Commission.
The Presiding Officer and Assistant Presiding Officer positions are open to serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, eligible former corps members, qualified students in their penultimate year of study in Federal and State tertiary institutions, and eligible permanent staff of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the specified grade levels.
The RAC Manager category is targeted at qualified heads of schools and other eligible personnel responsible for institutions or public facilities designated to host Registration Area Centres.
For RATECH positions, applicants are expected to have relevant information and communication technology backgrounds, with eligible categories including INEC ICT personnel, serving NYSC members, IT students and qualified former corps members.
Applicants are expected to provide relevant personal and identification details during the online registration process.
The requirements include a functional email address and telephone number, personal bank account details, recent passport photograph, referee information, valid staff or student identification, NYSC details where applicable, highest educational qualification and an acceptable means of identification.
INEC has urged prospective applicants to carefully review the eligibility requirements before submitting their applications.
The Commission has fixed Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at midnight as the deadline for submission of applications.
The recruitment is part of INEC’s preparations for the 2027 General Election, with ad-hoc personnel expected to play important roles in the conduct and administration of polling activities.
Prospective applicants have also been advised to obtain information about the recruitment exercise only from INEC’s official platforms and to be cautious of fraudulent websites, individuals or social media posts seeking payment or personal information under the guise of INEC recruitment.
Applicants can access the recruitment platform through the official INECPRES portal or through the INEC website.
As the application window remains open, eligible Nigerians seeking to participate in the electoral process as ad-hoc election personnel are expected to complete their applications before the November 18 deadline.
