    Imo LG Boss pledges conducive working environment

    Chidubem Ozigbo, the newly appointed Sole Administrator of Ideato North on Friday pledged to provide a conducive working environment to engeder staff morale in the council.

    Ozigbo inspected the premises of the council and pledged a conducive working environment for staff of the local government.

    Ozigbo was ccompanied by the Head of Department of Works and other key officials of the council.

    Ozigbo said the inspection was to assess the current conditions of the work environment and identify areas needing immediate attention and improvement.

    The inspection began with the exterior overgrown grasses and bushes.

    Ozigbo noted that a situation where grasses and bushes overgrown the premises of the local government was not acceptable and directed relevant staff of the council to clear the grasses to enhance the working environment.

    The inspection team moved inside the administrative building, where several critical issues were observed including
    leaking rooftop, multiple sections of the roof were found to be leaking, leading to damp patches on the ceilings and walls.

    The ilapidation according to Ozigbo, poses a risk to the structural integrity of the building and the health of the staff.

    Various areas within the building showed signs of wear and tear, including broken windows, damaged doors, and worn out paint.

    These conditions create an unconducive work environment.

    Ozigbo while addressing the staff, acknowledged the substandard conditions and outlining his commitment to a phased approach to improvements.

    The key actions promised include commissioning the HOD works for immediate clearing of overgrown grasses and bushes around the administrative building to improve the overall appearance and safety.

    He directed prioritizing the repair of the leaking roof to prevent further water damage and ensure a safer, healthier environment for all employees.

    He assured of a systematic repairs of damaged infrastructure, including windows, doors, damaged celling and interior painting, to restore the building to a befitting standard for a local government office.

    Ozigbo concluded the inspection by reiterating his commitment to transforming the Ideato North Local Government environment into a more conducive and professional workspace that can boost staff morale.

    He assured the staff that improvements would be carried out in phases and with due diligence to ensure sustainable enhancements.

    He said that regular updates will be provided to the staff on the progress of these repairs and maintenance activities.

    He promised to establish a regular maintenance schedule to prevent the recurrence of overgrown grasses and minor repair issues.

    Ozigbo encouraged staff to report maintenance issues promptly and involve them in the upkeep of their work environment.

    Ozigbo expressed confidence that with collective effort and a dedicated approach, the Ideato North Local Government environment will soon reflect the high standards expected of a governmental institution.
