I’m not leaving PDP, Abba Moro dismisses defection rumours

    Published on

Senate Minority Leader and Benue South Senator, Abba Moro, has refuted reports that he plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the speculation as mischievous and entirely unfounded.

His Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun, issued the rebuttal on Tuesday, saying Moro had not held any discussions related to leaving the party and remains committed to its values.

The statement said the senator—one of the PDP’s founding members—has no intention of abandoning the party despite its ongoing internal issues.

“Senator Moro finds the rumour ridiculous. The Senator remains fully committed to the ideals and values of the party and will continue to remain with it,” the statement said.

Acknowledging that the PDP is experiencing internal wrangling, Moro expressed confidence in its conflict-resolution structures, saying the party has strong mechanisms to address disputes.

He urged the public and PDP supporters to stay loyal and continue contributing to rebuilding the party ahead of future elections.
