I’ll join only PDP-led coalition – Sen. Moro

    Published on

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Comrade Abba Moro, has reaffirmed his refusal to join any political coalition not driven by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), amid speculations of realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interactive session and constituency briefing in Otukpo on Saturday, where he presented his six-year legislative scorecard, Senator Moro told constituents that he remained committed to the PDP.

“Let me state here unequivocally that I am not in any political coalition, and I am not a member of any political coalition with anyone or group. Those who are in political coalitions have their reasons,” he declared, drawing applause from the audience.

Moro reiterated the position previously taken by PDP senators, stating: “We have made it clear in our earlier press briefing that any coalition we might consider will only be one championed by the PDP — the largest opposition party in Nigeria — not by individuals or private interests. That position remains unchanged.”
