‎Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has declared that he bears no resentment towards people he supported in the past who have chosen to remain silent amid his current difficulties.

‎

‎El-Rufai said this in a statement titled “My Relationships and the Aftermath,” posted on his X handle on Wednesday.

‎

‎He said some people had contacted him, expressing surprise that individuals he publicly supported or worked closely with had failed to stand by him.

‎

‎The former governor said he stood by people and causes he believed in, sometimes at personal cost and under difficult circumstances.

‎

‎El-Rufai said he did so without expecting praise, gratitude or reciprocity.

‎

‎He acknowledged that some may choose to speak up, remain silent or even deny their past relationship with him.

‎

‎The former governor said he would not judge them for their choices, noting that adversity often reveals the nature of relationships.

‎

‎He stressed that his statement should not be interpreted as condemnation of anyone.

‎

‎El-Rufai said he has no regrets about supporting people or causes he believed were right.

‎

‎He added that he has left ultimate accountability for any injustice or injury against him to Almighty Allah, ruling out revenge or retribution.

‎

‎The statement comes amid political realignments ahead of 2027, with reports that El-Rufai is not seeking elective office but is focused on opposing President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid.
