A popular Nigerian Nollywood Actress Ronke Oshodi popularly known as Ronke Oshodi Oke reveals her history. “My name is Ronke Oshodi, and for years, I wore a smile that hid a lot of pain. People saw me as strong, confident, and full of life—but they didn’t see the nights I cried myself to sleep. They didn’t hear the silent screams in my heart or witness the emptiness I carried while pretending to be okay.”
My marriage was not what people thought it was. On the outside, it looked fine. But inside, I was slowly losing myself. I gave everything—my heart, my time, my peace—and I got pain in return. The emotional stress was so deep, it began to affect my mind.
There was a day I will never forget. I was so overwhelmed, so broken, I got up and almost walked out of my house naked. I wasn’t trying to make a scene. I just didn’t care anymore. I felt like I had reached the end.
If not for a dear friend who saw me and stopped me, I don’t know what would have happened. She held me, cried with me, and reminded me that I still mattered. That I still had a life to live. That moment was my turning point.
I am not sharing this for pity. I’m sharing it because I know many women are going through the same thing in silence. You don’t have to lose yourself to keep a relationship. You don’t have to break just to prove you are strong.
I almost lost my sanity, but I found my voice. And today, I’m choosing peace, healing, and love for myself.
