The Jigawa State Hisbah Board has disclosed that it seized and destroyed alcoholic beverages valued at over N5.8 million in Kazaure Local Government Area.

The State Commander, Ibrahim Dahiru, revealed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday.

According to Dahiru, the operation—led by the Chairman of Kazaure LGA, Alhaji Mansur Dabuwa—resulted in the destruction of 400 cartons of alcohol during coordinated raids on bars across the area.

He reiterated that alcohol consumption is prohibited throughout the state and said Hisbah would continue its campaign against immoral acts, including the sale and consumption of alcohol.

Dahiru appealed to residents to support the board by providing credible information that would enable it to carry out its duties more effectively. He also urged the public to shun vices and immoral activities that could endanger societal values.
