He Lacks Manners’ – Atiku Fires Back at Shettima

    Published on

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has slammed Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, over criticisms of his record in office and contributions to the North-East during his tenure as vice president.

Shettima had earlier challenged Atiku at a campaign rally in Potiskum, Yobe State, accusing him of failing to deliver meaningful projects or empowerment to his region while in office.

He said, “You cannot vote for someone that did eight years as Vice President without doing eight projects in his place. You cannot vote for someone that did eight years as Vice President without empowering eight people.

“Abdullahi Nyako of Adamawa, died in a rented house; Fariya died in anger. Atiku has no close associate in Gombe State than Baba Wuro Barambu but he died indebted, what sort of brotherhood or associate is this?”

In response, Atiku, during an interview on GTA Hausa, said he would not respond to Shettima because the vice presidential candidate lacks manners.

He said, “I will not respond to Kashim Shettima because he doesn’t have manners.

“First I’m not his mate, secondly I have more experience in governance than him and thirdly it is not our culture in northern Nigeria to disrespect elder, or accused an elder unnecessarily.”

“It is not in our blood in North, therefore I will not respond to him.”
