The National Anti-Corruption Crusade Group (NACCG) has expressed confidence in the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu, dismissing reports against her as mere blackmail. In a statement by its President, Dr. Bridget Hassan, the group commended Edu for her demonstrated high level of transparency and accountability with zero tolerance for corruption. The confidence in Edu comes after a thorough analysis of her time in office, especially in light of recent scandals within the ministry. The group emphasized that claims by disgruntled individuals and groups seeking to discredit Edu lack any iota of truth. Hassan highlighted Edu’s distinguished track record, assuring that she is on track in her current role and won’t be deterred by detractors. The group further asserted that Nigerians have nothing to fear and expressed belief that Edu would be proven innocent after the ongoing investigation by the Federal Government. The NACCG urged the government not to yield to the drumbeat of blackmail by enemies, asserting that Edu’s anti-corruption crusade is remarkable and enjoys the support of millions of Nigerians.
