    Govt seals illegal schools operating in Kogi

    The Kogi state government has sealed some schools operating illegally in Lokoja,the state capital.

    The sealing exercise was carried out on Friday by a team of inspectors led by the Director,Basic and secondary Education,Mathew Salami while on routine inspection inline with Section 20 of Kogi State, Education Law 2020.

    Salami Said any school operating in the State without approval from the State Ministry of Education would be shut down and the Proprietors would be sanctioned in accordance with the State Education Law, 2020.

    “The State Government would not allow the huge investment made in Education to go down to drain because of the activities of illegal School operators in the State”. He noted.

    He said that the exercise would be a continuous one until the three senatorial districts were covered.

    The affected schools are: Goodland Academy zango road, Arise and Shine,zango, Nifemi Comprehensive Nursery and Primary School Baracks, Jessi Model Academy Baracks and Alhikma Nursery and Primary Schools Lokongoma.

    The Proprietors of the schools have been directed to report to the Ministry and stop all activities in the schools until all conditions for the establishment of schools in the State are fulfilled.
