The State Security Adviser to the Kogi State Government, Commander Jerry Omodara (Rtd), has described the inclusion of Southerners in the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as a deliberate step towards building peaceful coexistence and strengthening unity in the state.

Commander Omodara stated this when he received in audience the Special Adviser on South-South Mobilization, Abu Micheal, who doubles as President of South-South Residents in Kogi State, in his office in Lokoja.

“The present administration remains committed to making Kogi habitable for all residents irrespective of tribe, religion or place of origin”.

He described the security architecture put in place by Governor Ododo as top-notch, noting that it has significantly improved the security situation across the three senatorial districts.

“No stone will be left unturned in giving every resident a sense of belonging,” stressing that the government views diversity as a strength rather than a division.

He said the administration will continue to sustain partnership with non-indigenous communities, urging Southerners resident in the state to remain peaceful, law-abiding and supportive of government policies. He added that government is working round the clock to protect lives and property and will not relent in consolidating on the gains recorded.

The Security Adviser further promised to support and empower women of South-South extraction resident in Kogi in the coming days, describing women as occupying a pride of place in the Ododo administration in line with its inclusive governance mantra.

Earlier, the Special Adviser on South-South Mobilization, Abu Micheal, said the South-South community in Kogi has followed with keen interest the track record of Commander Omodara in security management and community engagement, which informed their decision to appoint him as Patron of the South-South States Residents in Kogi.

Abu said the Southerners are irrevocably committed to supporting the administrations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo beyond 2027, assuring that they will continue to mobilize for peace and development.

He solicited the support of the Security Adviser in galvanizing the South-South population towards realizing the objectives of the current administration in the state.

Highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of the letter of appointment of Commander Jerry Omodara as Patron of the South-South Residents in Kogi State.
