Ghana Seek To End Disappointing AFCON Qualifying Campaign With Niger Win

    Published on

At the Accra Sports Stadium today, Ghana will play Niger in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying Group F final.

After their away 1-1 draw with Angola on November 15, the Black Stars’ chances of qualifying were dashed. They have lost two of their past five games in all competitions and drawn three.

With three points from five games, Ghana is now in fourth place in the group standings. They will be hoping to defeat the Menas to cap off a poor Group F campaign.

In the meantime, Niger ended a four-match losing streak in all competitions with three losses and one tie on November 14 by crushing Sudan 4-0 at home, enhancing their chances of qualifying.

The Menas are now third in the group standings, and if Angola wins the other Group F match that day, then Niger would go to the AFCON finals with a victory versus Ghana.

Due to injury, Gideon Mensah, Alidu Seidu, and Fatawu Issahaku, as well as new Ghana captain Jordan Ayew, will not play against Niger.

Coach Otto Addo has made changes to his team, replacing the aforementioned trio with Ebenezer Abban, Jerry Afriyie, and Kamaradini Mamudu.
