A Federal High Court sitting in Jos Division, on Thursday, has affirmed the victory of Rt Hon Yusuf Babayo Gagdi as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency.
Gagdi said he received the judgment with profound gratitude to almighty Allah and dedicate the victory to the resilient and wonderful people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency.
According to him, “It is a victory for democracy, the rule of law and the collective aspirations of our people.
”For me, the most meaningful way to celebrate a political victory is not with noise or extravagance, but by creating opportunities that improve the lives of our people.
”I am therefore marking today’s victory by presenting pensionable and permanent appointment letters to 16 sons and daughter of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency who have secured employment in different agencies of the Federal Government of Nigeria,” he added.
He stated that is the kind of celebration I believe in: turning political victories into opportunities for the people.
He urged his supporters to celebrate with maturity, restraint and decorum. We have travelled this political journey and earned the confidence of our people repeatedly; therefore, this moment calls not for triumphalism, but for greater responsibility and renewed commitment to service.
To my brothers and sisters who stood on the other side of the primary election and the subsequent legal process, I extend a sincere hand of fellowship.
The contest is over; the greater task before us is bigger than any individual ambition.
Let us close ranks, strengthen our great party and work collectively for the progress of PKK and the success of the APC in the 2027 general election.
Reconciliation therefore, should never be mistaken for weakness. It is the responsibility of leadership after every legitimate contest to unite the family, accommodate differences and move forward with confidence. Our doors remain open to everyone genuinely committed to the peace, progress and prosperity of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency.
I thank Almighty Allah for His enduring grace, and I deeply appreciate our people for their prayers, trust and steadfast support.
The victory belongs to PKK. The opportunities belong to our people. And the work continues.
