‎The Federal Road Safety Corps has commenced a week-long strategic leadership training for 305 senior officers as part of efforts to strengthen operational leadership, professionalism and service delivery nationwide.

‎In a statement on Tuesday, the FRSC corps marshal, Shehu Mohammed, said the initiative formed part of the corps’ ongoing institutional transformation agenda, as he made remarks at the opening of the training programme on Monday in Abuja.

‎Mohammed, represented by the deputy corps marshal in charge of training, Abiodun Akinlade, also said that the training was designed for chief route commanders and assistant corps commanders drawn from formations across the country.

‎He said the programme aimed to equip senior officers with adaptive leadership skills, emotional intelligence, operational competence, and public engagement capacity, enabling them to respond effectively to challenges and improve modern road safety administration.

‎”The contemporary road safety environment demands more than conventional enforcement strategies. Officers occupying strategic leadership positions must evolve with the realities of modern traffic management and growing public expectations,” he said.

‎The corps marshal also said that the training was carefully structured to sharpen leadership capacity, improve operational coordination, strengthen mentorship culture and reinforce ethical standards among senior officers.

‎He noted that the officers occupied critical positions within the corps and served as the bridge between policy implementation and field operations.

‎The FRSC boss further said that the initiative was part of a sustained capacity development framework targeted at institutionalising continuous learning and professional excellence across all cadres of the corps.

‎He commended the training department for conceptualising the programme and appreciated Ai-Protech Solutions for supporting the successful implementation of the initiative.

‎Mohammed expressed confidence that the training would result in senior officers who can lead with greater efficiency and effectiveness. He anticipated that these trained leaders would contribute to safer roads and improved FRSC services, benefiting both the organisation and the public.
