A fire broke out at the Kwara State High Court Complex in Ilorin on Sunday night, causing significant damage to Courtroom No. 10. The blaze, which ignited around 8:02 PM, was attributed to a power surge, as reported by the State Fire Service.
Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading further throughout the complex. However, the incident resulted in the loss of various items, including two air conditioners, a plasma TV, a fan, furniture, and important documents.
Hassan Adekunle, Head of Media and Publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service, commended the firefighters for their prompt response. Both the Chief Judge of the state and the Special Adviser to the Governor also recognized their efforts in managing the situation.
This incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures and the need for vigilance to prevent similar outbreaks in the future.
