Fire Destroys Shops and Goods at Karu Market

    Published on

A fire late Thursday night ravaged shops and goods in the popular Karu market, located in one of the major satellite towns within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Witnesses report that the fire originated in the informal section of the market before spreading to the locked-up shops. Jubril Babangoshi, a former aide to a one-time AMAC Chairman and a shop owner in the market, described the situation as demoralizing.

Babangoshi noted that although firefighters arrived shortly after the fire began, they faced significant challenges accessing the market. Further details about the incident are expected soon.
