FC Porto’s new coach eyes Zaidu Sanusi for key role

    Published on

Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi has found a renewed sense of hope as he makes FC Porto’s 29-man squad for pre-season training under newly appointed manager Francesco Farioli.

Sanusi’s inclusion comes after two seasons riddled with injuries that limited his impact for both club and country.

Farioli’s selection of Sanusi—while cutting four other players from the squad—signals a strong vote of confidence in the Nigerian defender’s potential as the club prepares for the 2025/2026 campaign.

This could be a defining comeback moment for Sanusi, known for his blistering pace, tactical discipline, and ability to launch attacks from the left flank.

If he stays fit, Sanusi could become a key asset in Porto’s push for domestic glory and European competition success this season.
