Fani-Kayode Declares Ceasefire With Dele Momodu

    Published on

Former presidential spokesperson, Femi Fani-Kayode, has announced a ceasefire in the verbal attack between him and the publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu.

The duo have been involved in a war of words over the past few days.

The rift began after Momodu made not-so-flattering assertions about President Bola Tinubu and his administration during his appearance on Channels Television.

The publisher of Ovation magazine, a chieftain of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), had described Tinubu as a dictator.

Fani-Kayode replied to the Ovation publisher, using expletives, in a long, viral social media article.

Momodu replied in kind with his own article, hurling grievous insults at Fani-Kayode.

However, Fani-Kayode took to his 𝕏 account to declare a ceasefire following intervention from highly respected leaders.

He wrote, “As a consequence of the intervention of numerous highly respected leaders for whom I have the greatest admiration, a ceasefire between myself and my friend and brother Bobby Dee is now in place.

“I will make no more comments about him and hopefully he will do same. We are both Nigerians and we share common values even though we disagree politically.

“I believe we can both move on with our lives peacefully as from today despite the hurtful things that were said on both sides over the last 24 hours.

“I thank all those that intervened and I hope that the ceasefire will hold.”
