Following an ex parte order by a Federal Court in Abuja declaring them wanted, two officials of the Kogi State Government, Abdulsalami Hudu and Umar Shuaibu Oricha have turned themselves in at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
The Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered the arrest of Abdulsalamu Hudu and Umar Shuaibu Oricha to bring them before the court to answer criminal allegations related to the alleged withdrawal of N46,039,579,919.38 in cash from the Kogi State government bank accounts, among other accusations.
The order was granted by Justice Emeka Nwite on Tuesday in a motion ex parte filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and marked as suit number: FHC/ABJ/CS/909/2024.
The case is one of the latest litigations by the EFCC against several Kogi State government officials and associates.
In a swift response, the two officials of the Kogi state government turned themselves in at the EFCC office.
It was gathered that the two officials made themselves availlable to explain their position in respect of the allegation by the EFCC as law abiding citizens of the country.
However, former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello whom it was said the two officials worked is being rumoured to have escaped to Niger Republic.
