Enough is enough – Tinubu issues marching order to NSA, Service Chiefs

    Published on

President Bola Tinubu has ordered security agencies to intensify efforts to end the growing insecurity across Nigeria, declaring that “enough is enough.”

During a high-level security meeting held Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu called for a complete overhaul of the country’s security strategy, according to a statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.

This directive comes in the wake of recent violence in Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara states.

National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, who addressed the press after the meeting, revealed that the President instructed security chiefs to adopt a new and more effective approach to tackling security challenges nationwide.

Ribadu explained that even while on official visits to Paris and London, Tinubu remained engaged, continually issuing directives to security agencies.

“We had a long and thorough briefing session with the President today,” Ribadu said. “He emphasized the need to collaborate closely with local communities, local governments, and state governors to address grassroots security issues.”

He added that the President was visibly concerned during the meeting and reiterated the need for urgent action: “He said, ‘Enough is enough’. Our focus now is on restoring peace and stability across the country.”

The meeting included top officials from the armed forces, police, and intelligence services, all of whom are expected to play key roles in executing the revised security plan.
