Elon Musk, the CEO of X (formerly Twitter), has leaked private messages between himself and his tech rival, Mark Zuckerberg, regarding their proposed $1 billion “super” fight. According to reports from Daily Mail, the exchange between the two billionaires revolved around the possibility of a cage fight.
The public interest in this feud arose when Musk tweeted that he was ready for a cage fight, to which Zuckerberg responded by saying, “Send me location.” Dana White, the president of the UFC, confirmed that both Musk and Zuckerberg were genuinely interested in making an MMA showdown happen, predicting it could generate over $1 billion in revenue this year. White also mentioned discussions about holding the fight at the Colosseum in Rome.
Elon Musk shared screenshots of his private exchange with Zuckerberg with American author Walter Isaacson, who wrote a biography about Musk. The screenshot revealed Zuckerberg’s response to Musk’s challenge for a practice bout in the Octagon. In the message, Zuckerberg expressed doubts about the likelihood of the fight happening, suggesting that either they move forward with the plans or abandon the idea altogether.
Musk’s reply indicated that while he considered it unlikely, he’d had a brief bout with Lex Fridman and mused about the possibility of winning despite their size difference.
Zuckerberg’s response, shared on Threads, essentially confirmed the authenticity of the leaked messages. He addressed Musk’s offer for a practice bout and his doubts about Musk’s commitment to a real contest. Zuckerberg emphasized his willingness to compete with those who take the sport seriously and suggested that if Musk is serious about a real event, he knows how to reach him.
The whole scenario underscores the intriguing intersection of technology and entertainment, with two prominent tech figures playfully discussing a physical showdown that would generate substantial revenue and attention.
