Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, received the news of his election victory with elation while presiding over a House session. The Appeal Court’s decision upheld his status as the elected member representing Bende Federal Constituency in Abia state, according to a report by ABN TV.

Running on the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket, Benjamin Kalu, often referred to as Ben Kalu, emerged as the winner of the National Assembly election held on February 25 in the constituency, defeating candidates from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, and others.

The Action Alliance had previously sought the nullification of Rep. Kalu’s election, citing the omission of its logo from the ballot box. However, the Appeal Court’s verdict confirmed Benjamin Kalu’s election victory.
