The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a wanted notice for two siblings hailing from Delta State, accusing them of involvement in a N330 million fraud scheme.
The EFCC’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, released a statement to the press in Warri, Delta State, on Friday, providing details of the case. The wanted individuals are Faith Onoja, 55 years old, and Emmanuel Onoja, 44 years old, both originally from the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The EFCC has identified Faith’s last known address as “Close to Celestial Church, Ekrovie new layout, old Egini road, Orhuehorun, Delta State,” while Emmanuel’s last known address is “No 6. Jasmison Street, NPDC/ND Western Estate, Warri, Delta State.”
The agency urged anyone with pertinent information about their whereabouts to contact the EFCC at its offices nationwide.
Release of Kidnapped Priest, Marcellinus Okide
In a separate development, Reverend Father Marcellinus Obioma Okide, the parish priest of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Amofia-Agu Affa, in the Udi local government area of Enugu State, has been freed by his abductors.
Rev. Father Okide was kidnapped on a Sunday evening while traveling back to his parish with six other individuals along Eke-Affa-Egede Road. The abduction was reportedly carried out by gunmen believed to be herdsmen.
Fortunately, Rev. Father Okide regained his freedom on Thursday night after spending four days in captivity.
Rev. Fr. Anthony Aneke, the Diocesan Communication Director, confirmed his release and stated that Rev. Father Okide was freed around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night.
