The chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Ejimofor Anosike for being named Finals MVP of the National Basketball League (NBL) 2026 season in China.
In a statement issued in Abuja by Abdur-Rahman Balogun earlier today, April 25, Abike Dabiri-Erewa described the feat as historic, noting that Ejimofor Anosike is the first player in the league’s history to sweep all major individual awards.
His haul includes the 2026 NBL Championship, Finals MVP (2026), Regular Season Scoring Leader (2024), Best International Player (2025), two All-Star selections (2025 and 2026) and the 2026 All-Star Slam Dunk title.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission chief praised his discipline and consistency, saying the achievement reflects the resilience Nigerians continue to show globally.
According to her, “Anosike’s journey is a powerful testament to hard work, focus, and determination. His record-breaking accomplishments have not only brought pride to Nigeria but have also set a new standard of excellence in international basketball.”
She added that the milestone should inspire young Nigerians, especially aspiring athletes, to pursue their ambitions with dedication and confidence.
